Klayr HunterMNIMH, BSc, BSc (Hons) Klayr grew up on the island of Tiree where her interest in herbal medicine began. She met a herbalist at a Well Woman Weekend and was so inspired she decided to dedicate her life to herbal medicine. Klayr's first introduction to Napiers was at 14 when she spent a week doing work experience in the Glasgow branch. In 2003 she started working as a dispenser whilst finishing her first degree in Physiology at Glasgow University. She then began an apprenticeship with Napiers to train as a Medical Herbalist. She was offered the role as assistant manager and gained an ITEC in Therapeutic Massage and Reiki while studying towards her Herbal Medicine degree. Klayr qualified from Edinburgh Napier University and has been practicing from the Glasgow clinic since 2009. She is the main herbalist at Cresswell Street and is available for consultations five days a week from Tuesday to Saturday. Klayr also provides a low-income clinic and is registered with The National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH). Approach to treatmentA herbal consultation allows a practitioner to see the whole picture whilst gathering information on specific health complaints. A consultation lasts about 40 minutes after which your practitioner will decide on a treatment plan specifically tailored to your individual requirements. Herbal medicine can support in the management of a variety of ailments and works in conjunction with the body's own innate healing abilities. Klayr has a special interest in women's health and has clinical experience with conditions such as PMT, endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS and menopause. She is also part of The Natural Fertilty Centre Glasgow team working closely with other practitioners to help couples and individuals have happy, healthy babies. |
