Susan has been using Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) as part of Napiers Detox Clinic over the last year. MLD is a wonderfully gentle and relaxing treatment, as well as being of great benefit for the immune system and a helpful way to detox the body. The light movements and specific techniques manually assist the lymph fluid being carried by the lymphatic vessels. In her clinic, Susan carries out a full consultation before any treatment is given. This gives you time to discuss any health issues, as well as giving her a full picture of your individual needs. For the best benefits, 6 - 10 treatments are recommended so that the body is improving more over a shorter length of time. Some patients have a longer appointment, using aromatherapy massage as well as MLD, to get the best of both worlds. Susan can work out with you what would be best for you as you work through the course of treatments. Previously managing the Stockbridge branch of Napiers, Susan has a good knowledge of both products and other therapies that can be used in conjunction with your treatment. Qualifying in Therapeutic Massage after being trained by Claire Maxwell-Hudson in London, Susan worked in Turkey and Fife before moving to Edinburgh. Also qualified in Clinical Aromatherapy, she has gone on to study MLD at the CMH School in time for the Detox Clinic opening at Stockbridge Napiers. She also attends as many additional courses as possible, studying with a Brighton based company called Jing Advanced Massage. These include Lower Back; Neck and Shoulder; Leg, Knee and Foot, and Hot Stone Massage.
