Iona established KnotStressed to provide therapeutic massage in the Edinburgh area, with a focus on supporting pregnant women and their partners. Iona has lived what she teaches with the birth of her daughter, Freya, in 2003 and believes massage, exercise, breath work, relaxation and discussion can help pregnant women and their partners adjust to the dramatic changes they are experiencing during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. She is a firm believer that everyone should have a regular 'maintenance' massage to enable them to step back from the pressures of everyday life, ease muscle tension, promote relaxation, boost energy levels and promote well-being. Qualifications and Experience Iona has Swedish Massage and On-site Acupressure Massage Qualifications from the Scottish Massage Schools, an APNT certified Diploma in Pregnancy, Labour and Postnatal Massage from WellMother, as well as an I.P.T.I registered qualification in Indian Head Massage. Iona is also an accredited Massage in Schools Programme trainer with six years experience working in environmental education in Edinburgh schools and communities. She is a registered member of the Association of Complementary Therapists (ACTh), Embody for You and the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (SMTO).
