Clotilde Chereau - BSc (Hon), GOsC
Clotilde studied Osteopathy at SIOM (Surrey) then Oxford Brookes University, where she has mainly learnt and practiced classical and structural osteopathy. She has also been initiated the cranial and visceral fields, from which she has developed a great interest. Therefore she has practiced the different types of osteopathy on a wide range of people in her different universities clinics. Her background as a carer for elderly person and as a sport person makes her particularly aware of the needs of those two patient groups. Approach to Treatment Osteopathic treatment aims to help the patient's body to recover health by guiding and maintaining the body toward its inner balance. The body is like a machine, a bicycle for instance. If the cog is even very slightly bent, it will wear out faster as well as the adjacent structures. The parts will then break down and the bicycle will eventually fall apart. The osteopath is for the body what the mechanic is for the bicycle in this case. They will help to adjust the misalignment(s), and even make sure the whole mechanics run smoothly at all times like a mechanic will ensure there is enough oil on the chain or air in the tire, as a routine. This treatment approach is suitable for people of all ages with a very wide range of conditions from the arthritis of the elderly to infantile colic, going through any sport injury, back and neck pain, gastro-intestinal dysfunction, headaches and many more.
